In a satellite project, the thermal control subsystem has the function of monitoring and controlling the temperatures and thermal exchanges of the other subsystems of the satellite platform, ensuring that the temperatures of the mechanical, electrical and electronic components remain within acceptable temperature ranges during all mission phases. Examples of thermal control methods are: multi-layer insulation, thermal coatings, radiators, thermal shutters, electric heaters, thermoelectric coolers, heat pipes, etc.
